The reason for the ? is I'm not really sure what wood this is. I found it in my garage as a round blank that I had started making something with but not finished, the wood has a lovely reddish colour so I thought it would make a great top section to a Pike bung, mated with spalted Beech.
The peg through the middle is Walnut and the base a Yew branch.
I wanted to create a line between the 2 woods so I used a very thin slice of Pear which you can see better in this picture.
The float body is 55m long, 30mm diameter at it's widest point, the base is around 60mm diameter.
